Wanda is a village living from the semi-precious stones mines. You will find several workshops that offer different gifts and accessories made with these stones.

It's a half-day tour from Iguazu, and many travelers make the visit on their arrival or departure days, Wanda Mines is on the way to Puerto Iguazu.

Wanda is famous for its mines of semi-precious stones such as agate, amethyst, topaz, jasper and different types of quartz. There are several familiar mining companies that remove the stones and also cut, polish and produce different types of products, from ornaments to jewelry.

Wanda Mines is located on National Route 12, 62 km. from Puerto Iguazu and 254 km from the city of Posadas (capital of the Province of Misiones). From Route 12, mining companies are about 4 kilometers away on semi-paved road in good condition (although on rainy days the access can get more difficult).

Mining companies have guided tours in which tourists can appreciate the different sectors of the mines, workshops and showrooms.

The town of Wanda was founded mostly by Polish settlers (it was named after a Polish princess). In addition to the mine area, you will find other agricultural and forestry developments.
